SCHOOLHOUSE FUND
You make the Schoolhouse programs possible!
Every gift received is an investment in our mission. Each year, we embark on a philanthropic campaign to bridge the gap between tuition and the true cost of a quality independent school education. As a community, we all work together to give a meaningful gift that reflects what we want, and are able, to give.
What is the Schoolhouse Fund?
The Schoolhouse Fund is a tax-deductible opportunity for parents, alumni, grandparents, past parents, and friends to support the teaching and learning our children experiences each day. A contribution to the Schoolhouse Fund is the first and most important gift we ask of every member of our community. Your gift to the Schoolhouse Fund makes the following possible:
- Innovative and challenging academic and arts programs
- Technology program with increased access to computer programs and higher-level learning opportunities
- Recruitment and retention of a talented faculty by offering competitive salaries and benefits
- Affordable tuition for qualified students of all economic levels
- Small class sizes designed to give teachers the opportunity to give individual attention to their students
- Art supplies, books, and resource materials for the library
- Multi-faceted activities programs
Why is my participation so important?
The Schoolhouse needs every member of its community to make a gift to the Schoolhouse Fund. A high rate of participation is an important measure of involvement by the School community. Suport by foundations and corporations are positively influenced by such strong, broad internal support. Depending on individual financial circumstances, contributions vary from $50 to $20,000 or more. We ask that each family give as generously as possible within their means. The Schoolhouse needs and appreciates gifts of every size.
Independent schools are expensive. Why must money be raised every year in addition to tuition?
To broaden accessibility, our Board of Trustees sets tuition below the cost of educating each student. Tax-deductible gifts to the Schoolhouse Fund promote accessibility by helping to balance the budget and moderate tuition increases while enabling the Schoolhouse to attract the best faculty and to compete for talented students.
Where does the money go?
Gifts to the schoolhouse fund provide immediate operational funds that are used in this fiscal year while helping to plan in the years ahead. These gifts touch every part of the campus from facilities to programs.
Who gives to the Schoolhouse Fund?
Every member of our community is asked to participate--trustees, parents, past parents, grandparents, faculty and staff. Our goal is 100% participation and in our small community, every donor makes a difference!
