welcome

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Hollywood Schoolhouse website. Here, you will discover a school that nurtures creativity alongside academic excellence, preparing children to face the future with confidence, able to tackle the challenges of the mid 21st century. At the Schoolhouse, we believe that a strong academic base can only be attained through purposeful and appropriate rigor and when the personal strengths and learning styles of children are supported.

We understand that creativity is just as important as literacy and should be treated with the same status. In the future, the complexity of our world and its problems are going to require a generation of inventors and peacemakers who have been taught to take risks, and are able to think logically, intuitively, and holistically. The productive mind of the future will be one that always sees possibilities. I like to think of the Schoolhouse as a safe place for children to use their imagination and take risks while they learn.

Albert Einstein summed it up best when he wrote:

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all that we know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all that there ever will be to know and understand.”

Hollywood Schoolhouse students go on to experience much success in a variety of secondary school settings, and beyond. They leave us with confidence, compassion, and a love for learning.

When I think about what sets us apart from other independent schools, I look at our balanced program that incorporates traditional and progressive teaching methodologies to optimize learning, the civic involvement we have with our neighborhood, and most importantly the beautiful connections between the assortment of families that make up our community.

Please don’t hesitate to call us or schedule a visit.

Sincerely,

Stephen T. Bloodworth
