ACADEMIC OPPORTUNITIES

The Hollywood Schoolhouse provides many opportunities for children to participate in a variety of programs in addition to their academic study. As students move through the elementary program, the curriculum is a blending of academics and fine arts. We find that this approach helps students develop creative and analytic abilities as well as offering children the opportunity to engage in a variety of learning experiences.

FIELD TRIPS

Classes take regularly scheduled field trips to museums, cultural sites, zoos, fairs and other Southern California sites. Middle School students attend a three-day outdoor environmental education program each Fall. Outdoor Ed focuses on team-building, survival techniques and provides a way for students to have a deeper connection with the environment.

Community Garden

Community Garden

Student regularly enjoy our community garden. Located in the neighborhood, this garden is utilized by every grade to increase children's sense of responsibility, environmental education and community spirit. Read more about it! See the Garden Kickoff !

ELECTIVE PROGRAM

Our elective program enables students to choose from a variety of subjects and activities to enrich their studies. Electives are offered in art, chess, ecology, music, performance, stage crew, and photography.

Students also have the option of participating in after-school enrichment activities such as gymnastics, swimming, chess, basketball, games and more.
